Who I Am
My name is Erin Stone, and my love for cemeteries began in childhood, visiting Toronto’s historic Necropolis with my family. Even then, I felt drawn to the quiet beauty of old headstones—the artistry, the history, the way memory is held in stone. That early fascination became a lifelong respect for cemeteries as places of heritage, care, and connection.
Now based in South Dundas, I’m a member of the South Dundas Cemetery Committee and an avid local historian. My background in museum-grade art framing taught me the value of patience, preservation, and attention to detail—all of which I bring to my work in grave care. Over time, as I explored the cemeteries along the St. Lawrence Seaway, I began to notice how many stones were sinking, stained, or forgotten. That’s what moved me to get involved, to learn proper conservation techniques, and eventually, to found Stone Restoration.
This business is rooted in everything I care about: local history, respectful preservation, and the quiet dignity of tending to a loved one’s final resting place. Every stone I clean is treated as if it belonged to my own family—with care, patience, and purpose.
