Every Stone Tells A Story

Welcome to Stone Restoration, where history, remembrance, and respectful care come together. My name is Erin Stone, and I provide professional grave cleaning and restoration services throughout the St. Lawrence Seaway region.

What began as a personal love for local cemeteries has grown into a preservation-based business rooted in conservation. I offer headstone cleaning, light restoration, and ongoing care for individual families and historic plots alike, using safe, archival materials and methods.

Whether you're nearby or far away, my services are designed to bring peace of mind and dignity to the places where memory rests. Each stone is treated with care, each visit handled with respect. Explore the options, see past work in the gallery, or get in touch with any questions—I'm honoured to do this work.

Services Offered

A Loving Visit

$75

Over time, even the most lovingly placed headstones become weathered by the elements. Dirt, moss, and debris can gather, while grass and weeds begin to overtake the edges. Without regular care, inscriptions fade and stones become harder to read—quiet markers slowly disappearing from view.

A Loving Visit is a one-time grave care service designed to gently restore dignity to your loved one’s resting place. Each visit includes:

  • Full cleaning of the headstone using safe, conservation-approved materials and debris removal

  • Trimming of grass, weeds, and edging around the base of the stone

  • Before and after photographs, delivered to you for peace of mind

Whether you're nearby or far from home, this service offers a meaningful way to honour someone’s memory with care and respect.

Every Veteran deserves a resting place that reflects their dignity and service. Over time, even official military headstones can become stained by weather, shaded by overgrowth, or hidden beneath years of moss and debris. At Stone Restoration, I offer a free, one-time headstone cleaning for Veterans as a personal gesture of gratitude and remembrance.

This service includes:

  • Full headstone cleaning of the headstone using safe, conservation-grade materials and debris removal

  • Trimming of grass, weeds, and edging around the base of the stone

  • Placement of a complimentary Canadian flag

  • Before and after photographs, delivered electronically

This offer is available for official Canadian Armed Forces–issued military headstones, and must be within my regular service area.

To request a visit, please submit your contact information and details through the Contact form. It is my honour to care for those who have served us all

A Service for Veterans

Forget-Me-Not Service

$150

For those seeking a more comprehensive level of care, the Forget-Me-Not Visit offers a thoughtful and restorative service to preserve your loved one’s memorial with lasting dignity. This visit goes beyond surface cleaning, providing care not only to the stone but to the space surrounding it.

Each visit includes:

  • A meticulous headstone cleaning using safe, conservation-grade materials

  • Levelling of the stone (where possible) to correct shifting or sinking

  • Trimming of grass and removal of weeds and debris from the grave area

  • Your choice of a seasonal silk bouquet in a planter or fresh-cut flowers in a vase

  • Before and after photographs, along with a video of the cleaning process

  • A complimentary return visit in late fall to refresh the stone and remove seasonal decorations

With lasting results and continued seasonal care, the Forget-Me-Not Visit ensures your loved one’s final resting place remains tended, beautiful, and respectfully maintained throughout the year

The Foundation Of My Work

The St. Lawrence Seaway has long inspired my love of history. Exploring its towns and backroads led me to the quiet beauty of local cemeteries—places filled with stories, artistry, and memory. Over time, I began to notice what others had passed by: headstones faded by weather, sunken into the earth, or slowly being overtaken by moss and weeds.

That experience moved me to get involved. I began volunteering, learning preservation techniques, and caring for forgotten graves in my community. Stone Restoration grew out of those quiet acts of stewardship—bringing together my passions for history, art conservation, and genealogy.

I now offer services across South and North Dundas, with a general service area stretching from Brockville to Cornwall, and as far north as Metcalfe and Merrickville. For locations beyond this range, a travel fee of $0.70 per kilometre may apply. You can explore the full area on the map below, or contact me for a quick quote
